How Do We Clean Dryer Vents?

We perform two types of cleaning: "Routine Cleaning" and "Problem Cleaning".

Routine Cleaning

Most dryer vents are cleaned from the outside using a commercial (250 psi) high pressure compressed air tool - a jet-snake. Using reverse air pressure the jet-snake shoots down the vent like a rocket, blasting loose lint, debris, and nests, sending it to the outside, where we catch it in a special bag. It will normally turn 2 or 3 corners, cleaning to the flexible hose behind the dryer. No lint enters the dryer or residence. "Routine Cleaning" is usually performed at scheduled intervals (i.e. every 6 months, every 12 months, etc.).  This can be done on large quantities of vents such as apartments, condominiums and laundromats as well as individual single family homes.

Problem Cleaning

Problem Dryer Vent Cleaning is performed when an individual dryer is not drying clothes properly or when the load has to be run through multiple cycles to get everything dry. We disconnect and pull the dryer out, install a large blower on the vent, and blow (using the jet-snake described above), brush, vacuum and/or dismantle the vent if necessary.  Whatever it takes to get the vent clean!
